A Poem (Translated from Urdu)

I was reminded of days gone by

A thought floated by

There was a time when I was a princess of my house

The caring presence of my father and mother

Their limitless love

There was excitement and energy

Many dreams, but little wisdom

God was with me

I crossed many oceans

Faced many storms

Now I stand on a faraway shore

God’s mercy is on me

There is sunshine, there is rain

Bright stars all around

Now I only have prayers for those near and dear

ایک نظم

کسی نے ماضی کی یاد دلای

خیاں ایا، ہوا کرتے تھے ہم بھی شہزادی کسی گھر کے

ماں باپ کا سایہ تھا

ماں باپ کی نامحدود محبت

جوش تھا اور شور بھی

خواب بہت تھے، سمجھ کم

خدا کی مدد رہی

سمندر پار کئے

موجوں کا سامنا کیا

اب دور ایک کنارے پر ہیں

خدا کی رحمت ہے

سورج بھی ہے، بارش بھی

اطراف جگمگاتے ستارے

اپنون اور اپنے لیے صرف دعائیں ہیں
