About me

Hi, my name is Humera. I am a mother, a grandmother, a librarian. I was an office manager at a private school for many years. Watching my grandchildren grow up has been the joy of my life. I have traveled to many countries and want to share my experiences with these bright, optimistic, young people.

The name “Chai on the Veranda” was inspired by the tradition in my parents’ home in Hyderabad, India, where no visitor could leave without being offered chai. Verandas are unique to homes in warmer climates, private but casual, ideal for conversations and entertaining family and friends over a warm cup of chai!
